What is Perception?
Perception is a process which is preceded by a process of sensing, which is a process of stimulus received by the individual through the senses or also called sensory processes. But the process does not just stop, but the stimulus is continued and the next process is the process of perception. Therefore, the process of perception can’t be separated from the process of sensing, and sensing procedure is a precursor process of perception.
Sensing process will take place at any time, at the time the individual receives a stimulus through the sensory organs, namely through the eyes of a sense organ of vision, ear as hearing aids, as a tool nose smells, tongue as a means of stamping, the skin on the palms of the hands as a means of touching, all of which are sense organ that is used to receive the stimulus from outside the individual. Stimulus in the sense that then by individuals in organizing and interpreted, so that individuals recognize, understand about what is in the sense that, and this process is called perception.
In the perception of the stimulus could come from outside, but also can come from within the individual himself. But some of the biggest stimulus came from outside the individual. Although perceptions can through various sensory organs that exist at the individual, but most of the perception through the senses of vision.
Because the perception is that integrative activity within the individual, then what is inside of an individual will participate actively in perception. Based on this, then the perception can be expressed as feelings, thinking skills, individual experiences are not equal, then the perception of something stimulus, the perception may be different between individuals from one individual to another.
